THIS WORK IS A COLLABORATION WITH MAUREEN JONKER AND KERIM SAFA, AND PREMIERED DURING KUNSTNACHT 2025 AT EXPO BART IN NIJMEGEN.

WE FOLLOW ARROWS, QUEUE UP, AND LET OURSELVES BE GUIDED BY SIGNS, MARKINGS, AND SIGNAGE. MANY OF THESE CUES ARE SO INGRAINED IN OUR SYSTEM THAT WE HARDLY NOTICE HOW OUR BEHAVIOR IS BEING DIRECTED.
FOR THIS EXPOSITION I MADE THREE SOUNDSCAPES, FROM THREE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES ALL HAVING TO DO WITH PLAY, RULES AND OUR ENVIRONMENT. THESE SOUNDSCAPES WERE PLAYED THROUGH THREE DIFFERENT SPEAKERS, CREATING AN AUDIO COLLAGE THAT CHANGES BASED ON YOUR POSITION IN THE SPACE.
THE STRANGER, 2024
‘THE STRANGER’ IS A DADA-INSPIRED AUDIOVISUAL PERFORMANCE BASED ON THE BOOK “L’ÉTRANGER’ BY ALBERT CAMUS. IT IS A LARGELY IMPROVISED PERFORMANCE ON ELECTRIC GUITAR, LIVE-LOOPING TEXTURES WITH CONTACT MICROPHONES AND COLLAGES OF FIELDRECORDINGS AND SPOKEN WORD, INSPIRED BY MUSIQUE CONCRETE AND MINIMAL COMPOSITION. IT PREMIERED AT WESA FESTIVAL 2024 IN SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA.

THE PERFORMANCE TAKES STAGE AGAINST A BACKGROUND OF BLACK AND WHITE VISUALS, RE-USING AND RE-IMAGING ELEMENTS OF EARLY AVANT-GARDE, EXPERIMENTAL FILMS FROM THE 1920S AND ‘30S AS WELL AS FOUND FOOTAGE. IN THE SPIRIT OF COLLAGING WHICH WAS FIRST INTRODUCED BY DADA ARTISTS AND LATER ADOPTED BY WRITERS SUCH AS WILLIAM S. BURROUGHS, THIS PERFORMANCE BOTH HONOURS THE PAST AND STRIVES TO INSPIRE NEW THOUGHTS ON NON-CONFORMITY IN ART, POLITICS, GENDER AND LIFE IN GENERAL.

THE CLEANING LADY, 2025
THE CLEANING LADY IS AN AMERICAN CRIME DRAMA TELEVISION SERIES DEVELOPED BY MIRANDA KWOK. IT CENTERS ON THONY DE LA ROSA, A CAMBODIAN-FILIPINO FORMER SURGEON WHO IS WORKING AND LIVING IN LAS VEGAS. THONY BEGINS LIVING A DOUBLE LIFE, KEEPING SECRETS FROM HER FAMILY, WHILE CLEANING UP CRIME SCENES AND EVADING THE LAW.​

IN EPISODE 9 OF SEASON 4 MY TRACK ‘KLIMT’ WAS USED IN A KEY SCENE AROUND SEVERAL DRUG RUNNERS. THE CLAUSTROFOBIC, TENSION FILLED MUSIC HELPS HIGHTEN THE ATMOSPHERE IN THE SCENE.​
